Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving with lots of family time and good food 🙂 We have been busy elves making lots of Christmas ornaments and other holiday themed cutouts to help everyone decorate their homes! We have been decorating our “nest” the last few days and will be sharing some pictures of what we have done so far. If you have any decorations you would like to share, you can do so on our facebook page as below.https://www.facebook.com/Nanas-Little-Nest-1376595459229496/We love seeing everyone’s ideas and finished projects. We had a craft show to go to this weekend and decided to add a little flare to some of our ornaments by using Rust-Oleum gold glitter paint. Whenever we want to add color to our cutouts, we just hit it with a few coats of the color we want and then a sealer…no prep work necessary. We have been asked the question multiple times about how to hang cutouts…my personal recommendation is the Command 3M hanging strips I have pictured below. They are very easy to set up and just as easy to get down without damaging anything.
We will be closing our shop this coming Friday the 15th to be sure all the orders we have will get to their destinations before Christmas. Make sure any order you need to place is in before that date. We will be closed from the 15th and will reopen by the 28th. Hope everyone has a safe and blessed Christmas
Happy Halloween to all of our readers and hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening. This weekend we will be hanging up and painting some cutouts so I will post a tutorial of the items we use and the different materials we have so all of you know before you buy what each material will look like painted. As always any and all questions and item requests are welcome so stop by our shop and send us a message! www.etsy.com/shop/nanaslittlenest
We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas the last few weeks. If you are interested in ornaments now is the time to start thinking about it. As we get more bulk orders, our turn around time is growing. If you want to place a large order of ornaments always write us a convo on etsy first and we can save you on shipping and we also offer large quantity discounts. We are also happy to make any custom ornaments you may need. Such as logos for a business, first christmas together etc…. I attached a few of the new ornaments for this year as well as our most popular nativity ornament. Any questions at all we are glad to help!
Hope everyone has been having a good week so far! Thought today we would share some of the awesome work people have done with wood cutouts. These are done by a wonderful local lady and she can be found at https://www.facebook.com/creativestrokesoneofakindpaintings/
These are just a few examples of the beautiful work that she does.
A beautiful lady with a beautiful talent! We hope you enjoy her talent as much as we do.
The Halloween sale is now live! We have a 10% sale store wide on all items and a 20% off sale on all Halloween decor! We have added a lot of new Halloween items since last year. If there is something you want but don’t see it, please message us and we will be happy to make whatever you need. Most of our sales are actually custom orders and we really enjoy bringing everyone’s ideas to life. It has been a quiet few days with not a lot to post about but will be having a featured artist post coming soon with all the finished projects customers have sent us. Hope everyone has had a good week and enjoy your weekend!
Just wanted to do a short introduction on myself, Nanas daughter.
I have been married for 7 years and laser engraving for about 4 years. We have 3 dogs and a ferret that keep us busy when we aren’t working. I keep up with the social media pages and answer all the questions that come in from there. I’ve learned the design side of it but am not as good as Nana is yet 🙂 Now that the Christmas shopping season has started, I will be in the shop every day to help keep up with orders!
We will be having a sale on Halloween items soon and will also have a few other things on sale as well so keep an eye out for that!
We have been hard at work while our Etsy shop has been in vacation mode. Here are a few samples of the new items to look forward to when we reopen! A lot of great christmas decor and there will also be more new items available that aren’t listed here. If any of the new items give you ideas for your own design, let us know and we will be happy to make something for you!
In the next post, I am going to show a few different products that I like to use to hang cutouts without damaging the wall or the cutout.
I started Nanas Little Nest in 2011 when I had an empty nest. My hubby was a woodworker by trade and I spent a lot of late nights playing around on his laser cutter until I made my first wood cut out and that is when my nest was born! Now I spend most days on the computer doing custom designs and keeping up with Etsy.
The shop has grown so much over the past few years that I taught my adult daughter the trade as well. She ran her own shop for awhile but earlier in the year we decided to join forces and just have one big wood cutout shop. She now helps with all the Etsy questions and custom requests and is learning to do custom designs for customers. She will also be helping with the blog and getting tutorials up on painting and hanging the cutouts we offer.
We also have a very special coworker Gerty the goose but better know as “Beep Beep”. She is a 1 1/2 year old Sebastapol goose that I got when she was only 1 day old. She has imprinted on us and spends most days working out in the shop with us and keeping an eye on things. She is a great “guard goose” and lets us know when someone is here.
Anything you would like to see us talk about on the blog or any custom items you may want, contact us on Etsy and we will be glad to help!
Thanks for stopping by and keep checking back for more posts!
